Eligibility and Overview
To qualify for the IEI Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled at a college or university in Illinois, have reached at least junior class standing, and be pursuing an engineering degree in a program accredited by ABET. Students registered in engineering technology programs are not eligible. Candidates must maintain at least a B average in the coursework applied toward their engineering degree and demonstrate financial need.

In 2015, the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), through its Build Your Future initiative, provided funding that made the first Workforce Development scholarships possible. That initial award cycle supported 19 recipients. Those Workforce Development scholarships are $1,000 per year and may be renewed for up to two years.
