Overview
Description: The Lincoln‑Lane Foundation accepts applications from high school and college students who reside in the Tidewater area of Virginia and meet the foundation's guidelines. The program supports students who are applying to, or currently attending, four‑year colleges or universities in the United States. Applicants are invited to submit a completed online application if they meet the stated qualifications. Current college students who meet the criteria are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility
Eligibility: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (a copy of the Green Card may be required). Eligibility requires attendance at, or application to, a four‑year college or university in the United States. Residency in the Tidewater area of Virginia is a mandatory requirement.

Application Requirements
Application Requirements: The online application must include the essay as specified in the application and the required financial documentation, including copies of parent(s)’ prior year Form 1040 with schedules and the student's prior year tax return if applicable. Applicants must submit the FAFSA Submission Summary with their SAI as soon as it is available. In addition, teachers or guidance counselors must provide an official transcript (with rank and SAT/ACT scores if applicable) and two academic letters of recommendation.

Procedures
Procedures: Qualified applicants may be invited for an in‑person interview with members of the Board of Directors; interviews are conducted between January and March. No interview appointments will be scheduled until all required documents have been received and reviewed, and appointments are made via email. Applicants should ensure they can receive communications from the foundation by adding admin@lincolnlane.org and the phone number 757‑622‑2557 to their contacts. The foundation's office is located at 715 Orapax Street, Unit B, Norfolk, VA.

Application Timeline
