Value: $5,000.00
Awards Available: 5
Deadline : Apr 30, 2026

Introduction
The AIST Globe-Trotters Member Chapter Scholarship is designed to recognize and encourage promising students to pursue careers in the iron and steel industry. The Globe-Trotters Member Chapter is responsible for administering this scholarship program.

Awards
- Globe-Trotters Member Chapter Systems Group Scholarship: One (1) US$5,000, one-year award.
- In addition to the above, the Globe-Trotters chapter distributes up to US$25,000 in scholarship funds annually.

Who may apply
Applicants must be either the child or grandchild of an active Globe-Trotters chapter member in good standing, or a current student member of AIST through the Material Advantage Student Program. Candidates must be enrolled at an accredited college, university, or trade school; students in postgraduate programs are eligible as well. Selection is not based on financial need.

Selection process
Recipients are chosen by the Globe-Trotters Scholarship Committee, which will include between three and five members. Committee members are nominated by the Globe-Trotters scholarship chair and must be approved by the Globe-Trotters executive committee. The executive committee establishes scholarship amounts. Decisions are made primarily on the basis of the submitted essay, academic record, and extracurricular involvement.

Conditions and requirements
1. Funds must be used at an accredited college, university, or trade school.
2. The recipient must begin or continue their course of study in the fall of the same year the scholarship is awarded.
3. The AIST Foundation will send the scholarship payment as a single lump sum to the recipient’s institution for deposit into the student’s account.
4. If a student’s admission or studies are delayed or interrupted for any reason, the Secretary must be notified immediately; such delays may lead to forfeiture of the award.
5. Students may submit an application each year throughout their college education.

Required application materials (submit as unprotected PDF files)
1. Current resume — include employment history, extracurricular activities, and any leadership roles.
2. Essay — 300 words or fewer explaining why you chose your field of study.
3. Copy of current transcripts — high school, college, or trade school, as applicable.
