Nick and Helena Patti Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans
Scholarship Overview: The Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans (JCCIA) is delighted to announce the availability of scholarships from the Nicholas and Helena Patti Foundation Scholarship Fund. These scholarships are designed to support individuals of Italian descent who are either orphans or have been raised in foster homes, and are seeking financial assistance for their college education, particularly in the field of music. While music students beyond their freshman year may be given priority, scholarships are also available for other areas of study. The scholarships are merit-based, considering both academic performance and talent.
Eligibility Criteria: While the primary focus is on music majors, students from other disciplines are also welcome to apply. Ideal candidates should exhibit strong academic performance, musical talent (if applying as a music major), leadership skills, and a dedication to serving the Italian-American community. Applicants must also be residents of Illinois. The selection of scholarship recipients will be based on academic merit, talent, the quality of the JCCIA application, commitment to education, intended degree area, among other relevant factors.
Scholarship Value: The scholarship offers a one-time award of up to $6500.
Application Procedure: Interested candidates must submit a fully completed JCCIA scholarship application along with any necessary supporting documents. All materials must be submitted by the specified deadline. The application form can be found on the JCCIA website and should be filled out and submitted electronically, along with any necessary documents, to jcc@jccia.com in a single PDF file. Failure to do so may result in the application being rejected.
Application Deadline: The application period for the scholarship runs from June 1, 2025, to November 1, 2025. Only complete applications received within this period will be considered.
Award Announcement: Successful applicants will be notified by the JCCIA by December 1, 2025. Recipients will be required to attend the JCCIA's December meeting/reception, where the scholarship awards will be presented.
Renewal Information: The scholarship is non-renewable. However, students are welcome to reapply each year for consideration in the annual selection process.
