The Nevada Women's Fund (NWF) initiated a scholarship program with the aim of empowering women in the northern region of Nevada through educational support. Since its establishment, the program has granted scholarships amounting to millions of dollars to women throughout the region, aiding them in reaching their academic and professional aspirations. Over time, the program has broadened its scope to include support for students in diverse fields, with an emphasis on promoting economic independence and professional growth. The Nevada Women’s Fund remains committed to investing in women's potential to effect positive transformation in their communities.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- The NWF invites applications from women residing in northern Nevada, which is defined by the NWF as all counties in Nevada excluding Clark County.
- Candidates must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution such as a university, college, or trade school located in northern Nevada or in an accredited online program. If the institution is outside of northern Nevada, the chosen field of study must not be available at any institution within northern Nevada.
- Candidates must possess an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Candidates are required to upload a copy of their 2024 or 2025 FAFSA Submission Summary along with their most recent academic transcript.
- To be considered for the scholarship, candidates must be enrolled for the upcoming Fall Semester.
- The NWF Allocations Committee reviews all eligible applications and scores them based on financial need, academic performance, and personal background.
- The announcement of Scholarship Awards is made annually in April.
