Intro Each year Benson Law Firm awards a $1,000 scholarship to a college student in the United States who submits the strongest video essay. The theme for this year is: how bankruptcy supports small businesses. Eligibility - Applicants must be enrolled in an American college or university. Scholarship Objectives The scholarship is intended to: - Provide financial assistance to a college student. - Promote student understanding of how bankruptcy relief benefits small businesses. - Encourage interest in careers in the legal field. How to Enter Choose one of the following submission options: 1) Video entry - Produce a 1–2 minute video describing how bankruptcy laws assist small businesses and contribute to economic growth. - Use straightforward, plain English and speak candidly. - Upload the video to your YouTube channel. - Title the upload: Benson Law Firm Scholarship Contest and include this link in the description. - Post the video to our Facebook page and to your personal Facebook profile. OR 2) Written essay - Submit a 1,000–1,500 word essay on how bankruptcy laws benefit small businesses. - Email your essay to BensonScholarship@gmail.com. Deadline and Notification All entries must be received by August 15th of this year. The winner will be selected and notified in August. Terms and Conditions Please read these terms in full. If awarded the scholarship, your name, school, photograph, video and the fact of the award may be shared with media outlets and used by Benson Law Firm and/or its partner organizations for promotional purposes (including Benson Law Firm’s website, social media, and print or electronic media). If you do not want your information shared or used for promotion, you must inform Benson Law Firm in writing.
