Moral Responsibility and the Application of Law Scholarship

Koffel Law Criminal & DUI Law Attorneys is offering its annual Moral Responsibility and the Application of Law Scholarship to both undergraduate and graduate students. One recipient will receive $2,500 to support their studies. The firm invites students from any field across the United States to submit a 1–3 minute video essay addressing the scholarship prompt. Applications must be completed and submitted by August 31, 2026. Please note: Koffel Law is not available to respond to emails, phone calls, or other inquiries about this scholarship. Eligibility - Open to undergraduate and graduate students who will be enrolled at an accredited U.S. college, university, or graduate program. - Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. - Applicants must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions. - Applications must be submitted by the deadline. Additional requirements (Terms summary) - Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment and must be U.S. residents. - Candidates must be in good academic standing. - You will be asked to provide personal contact information and proof of enrollment (for example, an acceptance letter or student ID). - The video entered must be original and created by the applicant. Who is ineligible - Employees of Koffel Law or their children. - Previous recipients of this scholarship. - Applicants who would refuse an interview by a Koffel Law representative if selected. - Applicants who submit the same video in consecutive years or reuse the same video for multiple scholarship entries. How to apply To be considered, submit a completed application form and the following materials by August 31, 2026: - Unofficial transcripts (upload). - Proof of enrollment (acceptance letter, student ID, etc.). - A link to an unlisted YouTube video containing your 1–3 minute essay. - Any contact information requested by the application form. Video prompt and content guidelines - Prompt: What is an attorney’s moral responsibility in the application of the law? - You may use examples from society or personal experience to support your argument. - Video length must be between 1 minute and 3 minutes. - Publish your finished video to YouTube as an unlisted link and include that link on the application. Editing and AI use - Using standard editing tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, iMovie, etc.) is permitted but not required. The committee will evaluate substance over production value. - AI-generated B-roll is allowed, but the script and narrative must be the applicant’s own original work. - Use of AI to produce the script, fabricate voices, or simulate actors is prohibited and may result in disqualification. - The primary footage of the video should not be generated by AI. Deadline and receipt policy - All application materials must be received by 11:59 PM on August 31, 2026. Late submissions or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Selection process and award disbursement - Only complete, on-time applications will be considered. - After the submission window closes, the selection committee may take up to three months to choose a winner; this timeline could be extended depending on the volume of entries. - The committee’s decision will be made without regard to age, race, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, or other protected characteristics. - Koffel Law will not respond to inquiries about the selection process and will only contact the scholarship recipient directly. Updates about the winner may be posted on the firm’s website. - Once a recipient is chosen, Koffel Law will coordinate with the student’s institution to apply the $2,500 scholarship to their education. By applying, you confirm that you meet the stated eligibility requirements and agree to the scholarship’s terms.
