Introduction
The Delaware School Nutrition Association (DSNA) advocates for school nutrition programs across Delaware. Our membership is made up of professionals employed by Delaware school districts that participate in USDA Child Nutrition Programs, including School Nutrition Supervisors/Directors, Nutrition Specialists/Registered Dietitians, School Nutrition Secretaries, Cooks, Bakers, Lead Workers, General Workers, and Satellite Meal Handlers.
Scholarship Overview
DSNA is pleased to offer scholarships to support students pursuing studies in Food & Nutrition. These awards are funded through member-driven fundraising activities such as silent auctions, raffles, personal donations, and other events. Each scholarship provides $1,000 to be applied toward college tuition for the 2026–27 academic year. If applicable, one recipient will be selected from each county.
Eligibility
- Must be a current high school senior. Receipt of the scholarship is contingent upon successful graduation.
- Must plan to enroll in an accredited 2‑year or 4‑year college or university in a Food & Nutrition–related degree program for Fall 2026.
Application Packet (required)
All applicants must submit a complete DSNA Scholarship Application Packet that includes:
1. The completed Scholarship Application form with signatures from the student and the building administrator.
2. A list of school and community activities in which the applicant has participated.
3. A personal essay, written by the applicant, of 500 words or fewer. The essay must be typewritten and double‑spaced. (Essay topic is provided below.)
4. A copy of the college/university acceptance letter showing the declared major and confirming enrollment for Fall 2026 at an accredited institution.
5. One (1) letter of recommendation from an academic source.
Submission Deadline
All application materials must be POSTMARKED or emailed to stacy.smith@cape.k12.de.us by Monday, April 8, 2026.
