Announcement — Sara Scholarship (2026)
The Sara Scholarship is accepting applications for the 2026 award year. The deadline for submitting the 2026 application is April 30, 2026. At least twelve (12) scholarships of $2,500 each will be granted in 2026 to female high school seniors who have demonstrated involvement with the sport of golf.

Who may apply (Eligibility)
To qualify for the Sara Scholarship applicants must:
- Be female.
- Be current high school seniors who intend to graduate at the end of the school year.
- Meet admission requirements and plan to enroll at an accredited college or university within the United States.
- Hold a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Show excellent character and active involvement with golf. Playing ability is not required. Examples of acceptable involvement include:
- Playing golf recreationally or as part of a school or community team,
- Employment at a golf course,
- Work as a caddy or in a pro shop,
- Other direct, active engagement with the sport.
Required application materials
Every application package must contain the following items:
- A fully completed Sara Scholarship application form.
- An official high school transcript, including Fall semester grades from the senior year.
- The applicant’s personal essay (refer to Section VI of the application for topic/requirements).
- A copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR), including the Student Aid Index (SAI).
FAFSA requirement
- To receive a SAR/SAI you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the U.S. Department of Education. Submit the FAFSA as early as possible, since processing times and state deadlines vary. After processing, the Department of Education will provide your Student Aid Report (SAR), which you must include with your scholarship packet.
Letter of recommendation
- Include ONE letter of recommendation. Acceptable authors are a high school teacher, counselor, or administrator (for example, a principal). Alternatively, a recommendation from a local business or professional person is allowed. Submit only one recommendation letter.
Application submission and deadline
- Place the completed application and all supporting documents together in the same envelope. The envelope must be postmarked on or before April 30, 2026.
