Overview
The Theta Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. awards scholarships to academically accomplished, graduating male high school seniors of African-American heritage who live in Solano County.
Who is eligible
To be considered, applicants must satisfy every item below:
- Be a male high school senior in the 2025–2026 academic year and plan to enroll as a full‑time college student beginning Fall 2026.
- Be a resident of Solano County.
- Be of African‑American heritage.
- Be a United States citizen at the time the application is submitted.
- Hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 for all coursework completed up to the application date.
Required application materials
A complete scholarship packet must include all of the following:
- The Theta Pi Chapter scholarship application form, fully completed.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation, written by a teacher, school administrator, community leader, or employer, that speak to the applicant’s academic capabilities and accomplishments. Each letter must be typed and printed on official letterhead.
- An official high school transcript provided in a sealed envelope from the school or issuing institution.
- A single‑spaced, one‑page, typed essay addressing: Tell us about yourself, your avocation, your educational and career goals, and why you are deserving of this scholarship award.
- A copy of acceptance letter(s) from the registrar’s office of the college or university the applicant intends to attend.
Incomplete packets will not be considered.
