Marin Garden Club Scholarship Program
Overview
Marin Garden Club provides annual scholarships for graduating high school seniors from Marin County who intend to pursue college- or university-level study in conservation, horticulture, and/or other environmental disciplines. The number of awards granted each year fluctuates based on the strength of the applicant pool and the club’s fundraising outcomes.
Who is eligible
- Must be a graduating senior at a Marin County high school.
- Must plan to study conservation, horticulture, or an environmental field at the college/university level.
Required application materials
Applicants must submit a complete application package, which includes:
- The online application form.
- An official copy of the student’s high school transcript.
- Two letters of recommendation (for example, from a teacher, school counselor, community leader, or another person familiar with your commitment to conservation, horticulture, or environmental work).
- A short essay outlining your interest, relevant experiences, skills, and future goals in these fields.
- A resume summarizing school and community involvement.
- A recent photograph.
Selection process
- Submissions will be reviewed, verified, and judged competitively.
- Applicants should show evidence of past contributions or engagement in conservation, horticulture, or environmental activities and demonstrate intent to major in one of these areas in college.
- Finalists will be invited for an in-person interview with members of the Marin Garden Club scholarship committee.
