ALTAC Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Ark-La-Tex Agricultural Council
Introduction
This scholarship, administered by the Ark-La-Tex Agricultural Council (ALTAC), supports Louisiana students who are active in 4-H or FFA and entering college as freshmen. Awards are typically issued as a check made payable directly to the college the student will attend.
Eligibility
- Must be a graduating high school senior and a resident of Louisiana.
- Applicant must be an entering college freshman and an active member of a Louisiana 4-H Club or an FFA Chapter.
- The recipient must enroll full-time at a college or university located in Louisiana and is responsible for informing the Ark-La-Tex Agricultural Council of any changes in enrollment status, contact information, or early graduation.
Award Details
- The scholarship amount is $1,000 per year (amount subject to change by the Scholarship Selection Committee).
- The scholarship may be renewed for up to four years if the student maintains a minimum college GPA of 3.0.
- Recipients must submit copies of their college grades to ALTAC after each quarter or semester to remain eligible for renewal.
- Awards are issued as a check payable to the institution attended. At the Selection Committee’s discretion, a one-time grant may be awarded instead of the renewable scholarship.
Application materials and deadline
All materials must be submitted together in a single binder. The completed application and supporting documents must be received by April 13, 2026. Required items:
- High school transcript
- ACT scores
- The past three years of your 4-H record book or FFA portfolio, including supporting materials
- At least two letters of recommendation
- Photographs from any Louisiana State Livestock Shows you attended
Selection timeline
- Scholarship recipients will be chosen by April 21, 2026. After selections are complete, your 4-H books, portfolio, and supporting materials will be returned to you.

- Recipients are encouraged to attend the Ark-La-Tex Ag Council Annual Meeting, generally held on the third Thursday in August.
