Overview
Annually, the Offutt Enlisted Spouses Club (OESC) provides college scholarships for graduating seniors and for military spouses who are dependents of service members. Eligible dependents include those of active duty, retired, or deceased military personnel.
Eligibility
- Open to applicants connected to any branch or rank of the military.
- Residency requirement: applicants must live in one of the following counties:
- Nebraska: Cass, Sarpy, Douglas
- Iowa: Mills, Pottawattamie
- Note: Participation in OESC activities or membership is not required to apply.
How recipients are chosen
Awards are granted based on:
- Demonstrated academic performance
- A written essay describing the applicant’s educational objectives and how additional study will personally benefit them
Selection panel
Finalists are selected by the OESC Scholarship Committee Selection Panel. The panel, chaired by Scholarship Chair Gina Crudden, may include representatives from the local community, school systems, businesses, and enlisted personnel. The scholarship chair serves in a non-voting capacity.
