New England Chapter ISA Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture
Introduction
The New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (NEC-ISA) announces a scholarship opportunity for graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college program in arboriculture, urban forestry, or closely related disciplines.
Why this matters
Trees are an essential resource across New England—vital to life in both cities and small towns. The regional green industry is robust and expanding, offering strong career prospects. This is part of a multi-billion-dollar sector nationwide, and New England includes some of the highest-paying states for careers in this field.
Award
NEC-ISA will award a $2,500 scholarship to a qualifying high school senior entering college to study Arboriculture, Botany, Entomology, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Urban Forestry, or a related subject. In addition to the cash award, recipients receive full registration to the NEC-ISA annual conference, one night of lodging, and two banquet tickets for a guest.

Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a graduating high school senior who will enroll full-time at an accredited two- or four-year college or university for the upcoming fall term.
- Be planning to pursue a degree in Arboriculture, Botany, Entomology, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Urban Forestry, or a related field.
- Either attend a college/university located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont; OR be a resident of one of those six states (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI, VT) who will attend college outside New England.
Academic requirement
Approved recipients must complete their first college semester with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to retain the scholarship.
