Charles H Selman Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Alaska CHARR Educational Fund
Overview
The Charles H. Selman Scholarship (CHS) Fund was established in 1995 by the CHARR Board of Directors to support Alaskans committed to excellence in the state’s hospitality industry. The award is named for long‑time CHARR member Charlie Selman and celebrates his important contributions to the field.
Since its founding, the CHS Scholarship has distributed more than $470,000 to qualified students and continues to expand. In October 2002 the scholarship program was placed under the newly formed Alaska CHARR Educational Fund, Inc., a move that broadened CHARR’s ability to provide financial support to the hospitality community.
