About the Scholarship Program
The Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA) awards scholarships to qualified applicants pursuing careers in the Green Industry. The program supports students who plan to enter or are enrolled in college programs in Michigan related to horticulture, landscape management, or similar fields. Scholarships help reduce financial barriers and build the future workforce for the state’s Green Industry.

Funding and Donor Impact
Scholarships are funded by contributions from MNLA, its members, and friends of the Green Industry. MNLA states that 100% of each donation is allocated directly to scholarships to maximize student support. Industry contributions provide the financial resources students need to pursue education and enter the Green Industry workforce.

Application and Eligibility
Applicants must complete the online application and submit supporting materials, including a cover letter, resume, two letters of recommendation, and photos or information on completed industry work. Submitted materials become the property of MNLA and will not be returned. The scholarship is open to qualified applicants entering or already enrolled in a Michigan college program related to the Green Industry.

Timeline and Award Presentation
MNLA’s Career and Industry Development Committee accepts scholarship applications through the annual November due date. Award recipients are announced in December and scholarship presentations occur at the Great Lakes Trade Expo in Lansing, Michigan in late January. Member Involvement and Outcomes
MNLA members contribute to the Scholarship Fund through membership dues donations and event participation, such as the Annual Golf Outing where proceeds support scholarships.
